Approximately a month ago, I went to Shanghai with my friends. The main reason we chose Shanghai as a place to visit is because 'Shanghai Expo' of course, as you can see in the title of this post.
The first day we arrived, we went to the Expo, bought 'Shanghai Expo Passport' which will be stamped in every pavilions, and of course, we directly headed to the Indonesian Pavilion. The Indonesian Pavilion was actually much more bigger and better rather than in my imagination. It had huge 'Lamps' with Indonesian islands shape to represent our country, and all of the employees inside wore Batik (Indonesian traditional clothes). Besides islands, our pavilion also showed Indonesian's rich wildlife and biodiversity. Indonesian's copper, silver, and gold are also being introduced very well in the pavilion.
The next pavilion we visited is Finland Pavilion. After queuing for 2 hours, I finally discovered that Finland has an absolutely different themes with Indonesian. If Indonesian Pavilion was considered 'traditional', Finland Pavilion was much more considered 'high technology'. They created some kind of 'Living Robots' in the wall and you can see your face sometimes replaced the face of those robots. Before we left this pavilion, of course, we stamped our 'Shanghai Expo Passport' with Finland stamp..
Sweden, was actually not as good as I imagined. The themes for Sweden Pavilion is 'Go Green' which means they showed their products which use recycle-able things. Not very interesting, in my opinion, especially this pavilion took another 2 hours for queuing. At least the most important thing is I got Sweden stamp. Yeah !
The next couple minutes, we were confused to decide which pavilion should we go. We decided Germany, but we cancelled it because of the 9 hours queue. Looked for France, England, Italy, Netherland, Russia, but the queue didn't look so cooperative with us, so we went to Canada pavilion and took a queue. After several minutes, I didn't know what happened, but this Canada pavilion let all of the queue to come inside the pavilion without queuing. With no second thoughts, we directly went in the Canada pavilion. What a luck!
The themes for Canada pavilion is actually quite unique, I still can't find the words to describe it until now. They have those looks-like-motorcycle-machine with a screen of your life, so it's like you're riding a motorcycle and the view is your life from baby, childhood, and go on. The situation is quite dark-cozy with eccentric lights. After got a stamp, I concluded that this pavilion is worth to get in !
and that was the last pavilion of the first day. The second day, we were just running around collecting stamps from small pavilions, so it didn't took a lot of time for queue.. Well, after a long two days, I finally went back to Nanjing by the new High-Speed Train and only took about an hour to back and put a step on Nanjing.
These are some other pics of Shanghai Expo, so... enjoy ! =)
